Melinda Beth Nickels, M.D.

Dr. Nickels is a board-certified general surgeon by the American Board of Surgery. She graduated from Texas Tech University Health Services Center and still practices in Lubbock, Texas, where she was born and raised.

Dr. Nickels performs all aspects of general surgery and is also a trauma surgeon. Other common procedures she performs include gallbladder removal, hernia repairs, colon surgery, and partial small bowel removal, among others. Dr. Nickels also participates in women’s health by performing a wide variety of complicated breast surgery, hysterectomy, and bladder suspension surgery.

Dr. Nickels’ well-rounded surgical skills are combined with patience and empathy; she cares about every aspect of a patient’s experience. Dr. Nickels enjoys spending time with her family, and is an avid horse and dog enthusiast.
