Alfonso Baranard Barragan, M.D.

Dr. Barragan is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery as a general surgeon, as well as a fellowship-trained hand surgery specialist. After finishing his general surgery residency and hand fellowship, Dr. Barragan returned to Lubbock, TX to join SWAT Surgical Associates, L.L.P.

Some of the most common procedures he performs are open finger fracture, hand tendon laceration repair, nerve repair, carpal tunnel surgery, broken arm/hand/finger repair, ganglion cyst removal, trigger finger surgery, and many others. Because the overall well-being of his patients is his primary concern, Dr. Barragan firmly believes in trying non-operative measures whenever possible. When he is not caring for patients, he participates in triathlons and in his church.
